For commercial fencing projects, plant availability has a direct effect on programme, labour efficiency and site coordination.
IPJ operates a substantial in-house fleet of plant and vehicles, giving our installation gangs the ability to resource projects without relying heavily on third-party hire.
Our plant fleet includes more than a dozen excavators ranging from approximately 1.5 to 13 tonnes, alongside tracked dumpers, vacuum excavation equipment, telehandlers and forklifts. This allows us to match plant to site conditions, access constraints and the installation method required, rather than relying on whatever equipment happens to be available from a hire company.
On larger schemes, this means excavation, material handling and installation work can be carried out using our own equipment from the outset. On restricted or sensitive sites, smaller excavators and specialist equipment can be deployed where access, buried services or ground conditions make conventional methods unsuitable.
Using the correct equipment for the task also helps reduce the risk of cable strikes, unnecessary excavation, delays and avoidable additional costs.
The practical benefit is straightforward: fewer delays caused by plant availability, faster mobilisation, less downtime between phases of work and greater flexibility when site conditions or programme requirements change.
Our plant capability is supported by a fleet of more than 40 commercial vehicles, including vans, pickups, tippers and HGVs. This gives us the capacity to move labour, tools, materials and plant between projects in line with site requirements, giving our teams greater control over logistics, sequencing and changes to programme.
IPJ continues to invest in plant because fencing packages are increasingly delivered as part of larger and more demanding construction programmes. Having the right equipment in-house allows us to undertake those works efficiently, reduce external dependencies and respond quickly when site requirements change.
Rather than coordinating multiple suppliers for labour, plant and transport, IPJ can provide the resources needed to deliver the fencing package as one coordinated operation.
